WARSAW, Poland – The heads of Poland’s four civilian and military intelligence agencies have resigned following the change in the country’s political leadership.
It was not immediately clear on Thursday whether new Prime Minister Beata Szydlo has formally accepted their resignations, but she asked a special parliament commission to approve them. The approval was granted.
It was not immediately clear who the new heads will be at the Intelligence Agency, Internal Security Agency, Military Intelligence Service and Military Counter-Intelligence Service.
Change of many top state officials usually takes place along with change of government in Poland.
Poland’s new conservative government of the Law and Justice party was sworn in on Monday, replacing a centrist team that had served since 2007.
