2 Mounties shot and hospitalized, search on for armed suspect in Alberta

Two Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers have been shot and are being treated at a hospital in St. Albert, Alberta. Police are searching for an armed suspect.

St. Albert RCMP said the two officers were shot early Saturday morning within the city. No details were immediately provided about the extent of the officers’ injuries.

Insp. Gibson Glavin says police are searching for the suspect near the Sturgeon Valley Golf Club in St. Albert.

Glavin says more information will be released. He describes the suspect as a white male, ages 25 to 35, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
