A gas explosion in the kitchen of a five-star London hotel late Friday night injured 12 people and caused part of the building to collapse, authorities said.

Authorities told Sky News that the explosion at the Hyatt Regency hotel, located near Hyde Park, occurred around 11:40 p.m. More than 100 police officers, firefighters and ambulance staff were at the scene early Saturday morning, and the hotel has been evacuated.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Sky News reported. Two men with leg wounds were taken to nearby St. Mary’s Hospital, four others were sent to local hospitals, and six others were treated at the scene and later released.

The London Fire Brigade said the building’s basement suffered “extensive” damage, though Sky News reported that the full extent of the damage was not immediately known.
