Wolves boss Nuno Santo hoping Raul Jimenez can play again this season

Wolves’ Nuno Santo has provided a fresh update on their star striker, Raul Jimenez.

Chelsea vs Wolves

Chelsea and Wolves are set to face off later today.

Both sides will head into the clash at Stamford Bridge in pretty dire form.

Chelsea have won just one in five league ties, slipping down to 10th place on a run which saw Frank Lampard sacked and Thomas Tuchel brought in, with his first clash in charge against Wolves.

As for Nuno Santo’s side, they are winless in six and have slipped down to 14th – though their last win in the league would actually come against Chelsea back in December.

Nuno on Raul Jimenez

Ahead of the clash at Stamford Bridge, Nuno Santo has provided an update on Raul Jimenez.

The Portuguese, unfortunately, suffered a serious injury back in November vs Arsenal which saw him stretchered off after a clash of heads with David Luiz.

It was subsequently revealed that Jimenez had suffered a fractured skull and he has not featured for Wolves since.

However, when speaking pre-Chelsea, Nuno Santo stated that Wolves are positive the former Benfica man can play again this season:

“We are truly positive that this can happen. It’s very good news. It’s very good news the way he keeps improving day by day.”
