Harry Kane has spoken of the mutual respect between himself and Virat Kohli after the Tottenham striker and the India batsman were involved in a Twitter exchange last weekend.
Kane tweeted his appreciation of Virat Kohli’s match-winning innings against Australia as the World Twenty20 hosts sealed their place in the semi-finals last Sunday.
The India star responded to Kane on Twitter, congratulating him for his strike against Germany that kick-started England’s 3-2 comeback win in Berlin last Saturday night.

Harry Kane has been watching the World Twenty20 and was impressed with India star Virat Kohli

Kholi has been one of the stars of the tournament and produced another superb innings on Thursday
Speaking to Spurs TV in footage that was posted on Tottenham’s official Twitter account on Thursday, Kane revealed he has been enjoying the all-action World Cup and paid particular attention to Kohli’s display against Australia.
‘I do enjoy the T20 style of play,’ Kane explained ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield this Saturday evening.
‘I was watching the World Cup while I was away on international duty. The India versus Australia game was a good one to watch and Virat Kohli obviously put on a good performance, a special performance that won his side the game and got them through to the semi-finals.
‘I put a little tweet out to show my appreciation for it and I found out that he is a big football fan and he tweeted me back. It was great to have that respect from a fellow sportsman.’

India’s World Cup hopes were dashed on Thursday as the West Indies beat them by seven wickets with just two balls to spare in Mumbai to set up a winner-takes-all clash with England in Sunday’s showpiece.
England eased past New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday and Kane, who will be watching, hopes England can finish the job against the Windies.
‘England had a great semi-final against New Zealand and hopefully they can go all the way and win it,’ the Tottenham and England star added.
‘They have stepped up when it mattered in the group stage and there was some great performances from the team. I will be watching on Sunday and hopefully they can get the win.’

Kane even issued a rallying call to Eoin Morgan’s side: ‘Good luck. Go out there and enjoy it and bring home the trophy.’
Kane will be hoping to watch Sunday’s World T20 final after helping his side keep their title charge on track by earning three points against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Tottenham do not have a good record at Anfield but will know they cannot slip up if they are to close the five-point gap on Premier League leaders Leicester City.
