Video: 17-year-old ex-Chelsea starlet Musiala nets wonderful goal 5 minutes after emerging from Bayern Munich bench

Bayern Munich sensation Jamal Musiala has this evening seen his ascending star continue to rise, after finding the net in style versus RB Leipzig.

All square at the break

Hansi Flick’s men are currently locked in action with Leipzig at the Allianz Arena.

The clash marks a key one in the Bundesliga title race, with the two sides having entered proceedings sitting 1st and 2nd in the German top-flight (Bayern held a narrow two-point advantage ahead of kick-off).

Any resulting expectations of a potentially cagey 90 minutes this evening, however, were blown firmly out of the water over the course of an absolutely pulsating first-half.

The scoreline is currently locked at 2 goals apiece, with all 3 points still very much up for grabs.

Christopher Nkunku put Leipzig in front with 20 minutes gone, to secure an early foothold in proceedings.

A wild 6-minute spell just past the half-hour mark, however, saw Bayern turn the clash on its head with a pair of quickfire goals, only for the visitors to immediately hit back, levelling things up once more 10 minutes from the interval.

Musiala magic

As outlined above, though, amid an action-packed evening thus far in Munich, one young talent has managed to grab the headlines for himself.

The player in question? Jamal Musiala.

Musiala, 17, is a product of the academy of Premier League giants Chelsea.

Following 8 years on the books of the Blues, however, last summer, the gifted starlet opted to depart southwest London, for a new adventure in the Bundesliga.

Despite his tender years, Musiala was handed a start in midfield as Bayern bagged a share of the spoils at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League during the week.

And, though he was not rewarded with a 2nd consecutive start this evening, it didn’t take at all long for the English U21 international to make his presence felt.

After Javi Martinez pulled up with an injury problem 25 minutes in, Musiala was introduced in the Spaniard’s place.

And, incredibly, just 5 minutes later, the 17-year-old found the net, driving a superb effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to drag Bayern back onto terms:
