England vs Poland

England’s latest round of international fixtures are set to draw to a close in around 24 hours’ time

The Three Lions will face off with Poland, in arguably their toughest group stage test thus far.

Gareth Southgate and co. have played out two World Cup qualifiers over the last week, notching wins over San Marino, and then Albania on Sunday.

These results saw England move to the top of Group I, with their upcoming opponents sitting 2nd, with four points from their first two outings.

Poland have more Covid-19 cases

England, in the first place, were widely viewed as favourites heading into the clash.

But a victory for Southgate and co. now looks even more likely, given the current issues in the Poland camp.

The country confirmed last week that Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich had returned a positive Covid-19 test:

This was followed by news on Monday that Poland’s star man, Robert Lewandowski, will miss Wednesday’s game due to a knee injury.

And now, as per a report from the Evening Standard, the Eagles also look set to be without a further two players against England, with both Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kamil Piątkowski said to have returned positive Covid tests:
