SIMON JONES: Everton insist that prospective United target Seamus Coleman is not for sale, though that could depend on the scale of bid should United follow up their interest.
United had been discussing Monaco right-back Fabinho but Manchester City have now moved into the race for the 21-year-old Brazilian.

KIERAN GILL: Petr Cech has been unveiled by Arsenal after Arsene Wenger finally made his long-term target their first summer signing for £11million from Chelsea.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper passed his medical at Arsenal on Friday morning after Sportsmail revealed he had agreed to sign for Chelsea’s rivals on Wednesday.
Cech moves to north London on a three-year contract, understood to be worth about £100,000 per week, and could make his debut against his former club on August 2 in the Community Shield.
Petr Cech has joined Arsenal on a long-term contract, the club have now confirmed

SIMON JONES: Manchester United are considering a second bid for Sergio Ramos.
United’s opening proposal was £28.3million, one that was considered a fair offer taking into account Ramos’ age, 29, and the fact the player has two years left on contract.
Madrid rejected that bid and Ramos is now on holiday in the USA. He has held talks with Florentino Perez and told the club president that he was unhappy and there is concern he has the personality to see out his threats and push for the move to Old Trafford.

OLIVER TODD: Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande have signed Tottenham midfielder Paulinho for £9.8million, with the Brazilian putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.
Paulinho departs White Hart Lane as the first big name out of the door in Mauricio Pochettino’s summer clear-out. He will link up with former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari in China.
The 26-year-old struggled to make a continued impact on the Barclays Premier League since signing for Spurs from Corinthians in a £17m deal two years ago.

LUKE AUGUSTUS: Iker Casillas is open to interest from Serie A side Roma with his Real Madrid future in doubt, according to the goalkeeper’s agent.
Casillas’ time at the Santiago Bernabeu appears to be coming to an end this summer, with Manchester United No 1 David de Gea heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants as his replacement.
One potential destination for Casillas, if he did leave, could be Roma with reports in Italy suggesting that the Serie A runners-up are considering a bid for the 34-year-old.
Iker Casillas is ‘flattered’ by speculation linking him with a move to Roma from Real Madrid, claims his agent

JOHN DOWNES: Barcelona’s current president Josep Maria Bartomeu believes Barcelona must continue to invest big on players in the transfer market if they are to stave off competition from Real Madrid.
Bartomeu, who is running for re-election this summer, is desperate to add to the club’s solitary summer signing of Sevilla winger Aleix Vidal in order to stay ahead of Rafael Benitez’s team in all competitions.
Manager Luis Enrique’s Blaugrana completed a groundbreaking treble last season, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Sunderland hope to complete the signing of Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates later this week.
The Black Cats are close to tying up a £2million deal for the 24-year-old Uruguay international, who had a loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season.
It is understood that talks are ongoing and that the club is hopeful of reaching a successful conclusion within days.

Aston Villa have confirmed the appointment of Ray Wilkins as assistant to manager Tim Sherwood.
The 58-year-old, who announced his impending arrival in a television interview last week, will start work immediately.
Sherwood said: ‘I’m really pleased to bring Ray on board. He has a fantastic knowledge of the game and I’m looking forward to working with him.’
Ray Wilkins has been confirmed as Aston Villa’s new assistant manager by the club

ADAM SMITH: Paul McGrath believes that Seamus Coleman would be an excellent addition to the Manchester United squad – if they manage to persuade Everton to sell.
The full back is a long-term target for Louis van Gaal’s side but he won’t be let go on the cheap after signing a new five-year deal back in 2014.
McGrath, who played 163 games for United, thinks they’d be getting a top class player if they can agree a deal.

SAMI MOKBEL: Chelsea look set to snap up exciting Brazilian teenager Kenedy for a fee of £6million from Fluminense this week.
The forward is a huge talent and the Blues are confident they can avoid any problems with securing a work permit as they look to add to the Brazil contingent already at Stamford Bridge.
Here, Sportsmail tells you all you need to know about the 19-year-old.
Brazilian forward Kenedy is set to seal a £6million move from Fluminense to Chelsea this week

NICHOLAS GODDEN AND ROB DRAPER: Morgan Schneiderlin has returned to Southampton to begin pre-season training despite the France midfielder being poised to join Premier League rivals Manchester United for £25million.
The 25-year-old was pictured arriving at Saints’ Staplewood training ground alongside summer signing Maarten Stekelenburg on Monday even though he is set to quit the club.

Arsenal have been linked to Juventus and Chile’s all-action midfielder Arturo Vidal, with reports emerging from Italy that the deal is all but done.
Vidal has been one of the players of the tournament at the Copa America this summer, after helping Juve to the Champions League final.
But do Arsenal need another central midfielder? Arsenal fan Lee Hurley of blog Daily Cannon tells us whether he would like to see Vidal at the Emirates Stadium.

NICHOLAS GODDEN: Brazil international Douglas Costa has admitted that talks between Bayern Munich and Shakhtar Donetsk have taken place but denied an agreement for his transfer had already been reached.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who can play through the middle or on either wing, has been representing his country at the Copa America and is set to sort out his future following Brazil’s exit.
Douglas has been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea but reports in Germany last week claimed that a £25million deal had been struck for him to sign for Bundesliga champions Bayern.

MIKE KEEGAN: Manchester United are undoubtedly the Premier League’s most successful side of all time, with 13 titles in the 23 years since the league was formed.
While much of that success has been built on the production of talent from their academy, it has been complemented by a range of superb signings.
Not all investments come off of course, and among the brilliant purchases there have also been a fair few duds.
Sportsmail takes a look at the 10 best, and 10 worst, United signings of the Premier League era.
Unsurprisingly, Manchester United legend Eric Cantona (right) features on this list as a best buy

ADAM SHERGOLD: Given the flurry of deals already done and the constant grinding of the rumour mill, it will come as a surprise to many that the transfer window isn’t even open yet.
The official start to the summer’s wheeling and dealing is at 12am on Wednesday (July 1), meaning all the paperwork can then be properly completed and submitted to the authorities.
The window will remain open until the earlier time of 6pm on Tuesday September 1 when it will ‘slam shut’ amid the hurly-burly of deadline day.
This hasn’t stopped the Premier League’s leading lights trying to gain a head-start in the negotiations however.
And so, as we approach the start of the transfer window, we take a look at the deals already done, those in progress and the others likely to happen for the big six clubs.

OLIVER TODD: Vitesse head coach Peter Bosz has admitted he wanted to get Ruben Loftus-Cheek to move to Holland on loan, but that his growing first-team influence at Chelsea has made a move ‘impossible’.
Loftus-Cheek was criticised for a lack of effort in a post-season friendly against Melbourne by manager Jose Mourinho, but the Portuguese coach still sees the 19-year-old having a key role in his squad next season.
Fellow Blues youth product Lewis Baker made the loan move to Arnhem last week in the latest in a string of link-ups between the two clubs but a move for Loftus-Cheek was clearly off the table.

SAM CUNNINGHAM: Seamus Coleman has been placed at the top of Manchester United’s transfer target list to find a new right back.
Louis van Gaal is searching for a right back and is considering an offer for the the Everton full back.

JONNY SINGER: Elsewhere in Spain, Barcelona’s pursuit of Paul Pogba continues to dominate the headlines, with Mundo Deportivo and Sport variously reporting bids of €80m (£57m) and €90m (£64m) for the Juventus midfielder.
The paper also links Juve to Real Madrid’s Isco, while Arsenal are apparently preparing a bid for Arturo Vidal as the exodus from Turin continues.
Barcelona are willing to bid €90m (£64m) for Juventus star Paul Pogba, according to Sport

JONNY SINGER: Iker Casillas’ time at Real Madrid could be at an end when Manchester United keeper David de Gea arrives at the Bernabeu, according to reports in Spain.
For the last few seasons Casillas and another keeper have been able to survive in tandem, with Casillas playing in the Champions League in 2013-14 and La Liga last season, while Diego Lopez and then Kelyor Navas held down the spot in the other competition.
But new manager Rafa Benitez will pick one first-choice goalkeeper and stick with him for all competitions, according to Spanish paper Marca.
That means if Real, as expected, sign De Gea this summer, Casillas will be allowed to leave, with another Madrid-based paper, AS, claiming Roma is his destination.
According to Spanish paper AS, Roma are interested in Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas

SAMI MOKBEL: Crystal Palace are in line for a £2.5million cash injection courtesy of Nathaniel Clyne’s switch to Liverpool.
The England international will become Brendan Rodgers’ sixth summer signing and the Eagles are due a significant portion of the £12.5m fee Liverpool will pay Southampton for the right back.
Sources close to the £2.5m tribunal deal that saw Clyne swap Selhurst Park for St Mary’s in 2012 claim Palace are due in the region of 20-25 per cent of the profit the Saints have made on the defender. That means the south London club will net a windfall of up to £2.5m once Clyne’s move north is rafted.

JOHN MCGARRY: Genk will make a last-gasp plea to Jelle Vossen to remain with them in Belgium – and reject Celtic’s overtures.
Vossen spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and despite returning to his parent club this summer, the £2million-rated striker is believed to be keen on continuing his career in the UK.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila last week confirmed his interest – with Sheffield Wednesday and Brugges also in the hunt.
