Sunderland have made a move to sign Holland international Georginio Wijnaldum.
PSV Eindhoven anticipate a bid in the coming days from Dick Advocaat after he and sporting director Lee Congerton made initial enquiries for the Dutch club’s captain.
PSV want around £15million for Wijnaldum who can play in central midfield or on the right wing.

Wijnaldum has 19 caps for Holland and his preferred position is as a playmaker
They have already turned down a £10m offer from Zenit St Petersburg who want him to replace Axel Witsel, who is expected to join either AC Milan or Juventus.
Wijanldum has 19 caps for Holland. He made his debut for previous club Feyenoord at 16 and his preferred role is as a playmaker.
Sunderland have an interest in Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar who is out of contract this summer and have made offers fro Liverpool’s Sebastian Coates and Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk.
Celtic have considered Genk’s Kara Mbodj as a possible replacement for Van Dijk.
Real Madrid will move forward in their pursuit of David de Gea this week after an impasse in proceedings but will face the counter offer from Manchester United for Sergio Ramos.
United see the two players linked in negotiations and know Ramos is interested in joining them. The 29-year-old also has a good friend already in Manchester in the shape of Jesus Navas at Manchester City. The two were together at Sevilla and sometimes roomed together while on international duty with Spain.
Madrid want to end the saga over De Gea’s move this week but that will now be complicated by United’s valuation of Ramos who has two years left on contract.

Manchester City have watched Chile international midfielder Charles Aranguiz.
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain and manager Manuel Pellegrini were in the stands last Thursday to watch Aranguiz score twice in Chile’s 5-0 Copa America demolition of Bolivia.
The Internacional all-rounder can play centrally or wide and has been followed by Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen also this season.

The 26-year-old Aranguiz says he would like to move to Europe.
‘It’s something that makes me feel good, it makes me proud that I am doing things well. If it is true, I would love to go,’ he said.
His price would be around £8m yet, as with many South Americans, his ownership rights are not straightforward. Internacional own 30 per cent while DIS, the company in dispute with Barcelona and Neymar, is understood to own the rest. He shares the same agent as Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Fernando Felicevich.
Lyon have enquired about Manchester City defender Jason Denayer but he is expected to stay at the Etihad.
The Belgium international has benefited from a year with Celtic where he was was crowned PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year and has returned to City where he has been offered a five-year contract.

His agent Jesse de Pretter told Foot Mercato: ‘Manchester City’s directors have told us that they are considering Jason as a potential starting player, for the first team.’
The agent also confirmed that a Spanish and a German club are also interested in signing the 19-year-old.
Lyon’s 27-year-old centre back Bakary Kone is attracting interest from Leicester City.
New York City remain the likely destination for Andrea Pirlo.
The 36-year-old Juventus midfielder has been reluctant to make comment about his next move following defeat in the Champions League final to Barcelona.

Sportsmail reported New York’s interest earlier this month and there is hope an agreement will be struck later this week. Although Pirlo’s contract does not expire until 2016, the playmaker is interested in an MLS switch and could join the likes of David Villa and Frank Lampard in the NYC ranks.
Juventus have signed Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid and will hold talks with Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici in Italy on Tuesday over the future of Carlos Tevez. Boca have made an opening offer of £4.65m to take the 31-year-old who has one year left on contract.

West Ham hope to find out later on Monday where they stand on Dimitri Payet from Marseille.
The club made a £9.4m offer at the weekend for the France international who held talks with his club on Saturday.
Another meeting is planned but his family are keen on a move to London.
West Ham are juggling deals for Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson, Alex Song of Barcelona, who has interest from Manchester City and Chelsea, and Charlie Austin at QPR.

Roma have no immediate plans to pursue a deal for Aston Villa centre forward Christian Benteke.
The Italian side want a striker and have considered the Belgium international but he is too costly and they are pursuing other targets with Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko still among them.
Benteke is £32.5m and wants to stay in England where he remains an option for Liverpool and Chelsea.

Liverpool are also weighing up a move for Sevilla’s striker sign Carlos Bacca
Liverpool are weighing up the likes of Carlos Bacca at Sevilla, Jose Salomon Rondon of Zenit and Fernando Llorente at Juventus. They want one more attacking player and Benteke is their preference but over their budget. Matters may change should Manchester City offer closer to £50m for Raheem Sterling.
Liverpool will improve their bid for Nathaniel Clyne at Southampton but an offer for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi is yet to be confirmed.
Hoffenheim’s Brazil international Roberto Firmino remains an option under consideration for Liverpool and Manchester City.
Bournemouth hope to sign Everton left back Luke Garbutt on loan once he agrees his new five-year contract with Everton.
Talks have advanced for the England Under 21 international with Everton hoping to agree terms shortly. A £2.2m deal for Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu is also expected to move on later on Wednesday.

Luke Garbutt (centre) is expected to sign a new deal at Everton and then move on loan to Bournemouth
Burnley, meanwhile, expect to finalise a £1m deal for Aston Villa right back Matt Lowton. He will replace Keiran Trippier who joined Tottenham.
Tottenham right back DeAndre Yedlin is wanted on loan by Bolton Wanderers and Derby County. Burnley had also shown an interest in the US international prior to talks with Lowton.
The 21-year-old Yedlin is viewed as a great prospect with his speed and ability going forward but needs to sharpen up defensively to get a run in the Premier League. Tottenham have signed Trippier from Burnley and have interest from clubs in Kyle Walker but are in no rush to sell unless they receive a substantial offer.
Stoke have been offered the chance to sign Uruguay captain Maxi Pereira as they discuss potential right backs. The 31-year-old is a free agent and has been discussing a move to Porto. Stoke want a right back after missing out to Southampton on Cedric Soares.
