Tottenham transfer news
In this article, we’ll cover all of today’s Tottenham transfer news.
Paratici speaks on Kane future
Spurs’ new managing director Fabio Paratici has reiterated the clubs desire to hold onto Harry Kane beyond the summer window.
Kane has said he wants to move on during the window to try and fight for more regular trophies in the latter stages of his career.
Yet Paratici appears determined to change his mind.
“Keeping him is not just my goal, it’s our goal as a club,” he said.
“I can’t wait to watch him play live, I’ve been really lucky in the past years because I’ve watched a lot of top players and strikers, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain, and many more which now I forgot about.
“Right now, he’s one of the best strikers in the world. He’s a complete player, really special. His physique is that of a real number nine, a true poacher, but he also has an incredibly refined technique.
“He is able to shoot with both feet and also provides many assists – very few people notice this, because he scores so many goals.
“He’s a team player, but he’s a finisher at the same time, so really I believe he is among the top three in the world.”
Whether he and the club are successful looks very unclear at the moment.
Dele Alli opens up
Dele Alli was unable to establish himself as a first-team regular under Jose Mourinho.
There were moments where he even looks like he could leave the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and and his association with the club.
However with new manager Nuno Espirito Santo taking charge ahead of the new season, Alli is open to the year being his best ever.
“He [Nuno] has done a great job at Wolves,” he said. “I am looking forward to speaking to him and working with him. He is a great manager and it is exciting times.
“I want to make this year one of the best I have had. A lot of people have said I need to find the form I was in a few years ago. For me, I don’t even want to get to that, I want to go past that and reach my full potential to be the best player I can be.
“It has been a tough few years but I have been working hard and analysing what I need to do to get better.
“I have been training a lot on most days of my holiday. I didn’t feel I needed much rest, so it is just training the whole way through.”
Pjanic move latest
The work with Fabio Paratici is doing behind the scenes seemingly extends beyond simply the work keeping Kane.
Reports from the Express claim the Italian has been the key factor in convincing former Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic to make a move to Spurs. Manchester United were also interested but the Italian’s influence could have been the deciding factor.
The Bosnian, now 31, spent 4 years with Juve before moving to the Camp Nou. He signed a bumper deal but could be let go for free and Spurs are looking to snap him up.
Ambitious moves like this could be cited by Paratici towards Kane in an effort to keep him at the club.
