It’s all square in Kuala Lumpur and Rose has inadvertently put into his own net. Indra Putra Mahyuddin curled in a delightful free-kick towards the far post and Rose, under pressure from Thiago Juninho, heads into his own net.

29mins: Kane will be disappointed with his latest effort. Townsend bombs down the right and into the box before cutting the ball back to the English striker.

Kane drops his shoulder, finds some space, but fires well over the bar.

27mins: Yedlin, who has looked bright throughout, beats his man out on the right before feeding Carroll on the edge of the Malaysia penalty area. Unfortunately, the midfielder curls his effort over the bar.

22mins: Rangel puts the ball in the back of Tottenham’s net but his powerful volley is rightly ruled offside.

Spurs have the lead and it’s Kane with the opener. It’s possibly one of the easiest goals he’ll ever score after brilliant work from Eriksen down the left.

The Danish star jinked into the box before cutting the ball back to Carroll who saw his shot pushed onto the post. The ball then fell kindly to Kane who had time to take a touch and rifle the ball home. 1-0!

15mins: Townsend breaks down the left before Ronny Harun robs him of the ball. Malaysia XI don’t look like they’ll be a pushover this afternoon.

10mins: Youngster Harry Winks is dispossessed too easily and allows Malaysia striker Paulo Range fires wide from a tight angle.  At the other end, the Malaysia XI goalkeeper makes two saves in quick succession from Townsend and Kane.

9mins: Man of the moment Kane has his first shot of the afternoon after beating two Malaysian defenders. The striker’s shot is easily collected.

5mins: Rose gives away a free-kick after getting caught on the ball by Joseph Kalang near to Tottenham’s corner flag. The ball is swept in, but Lloris manages to punch clear.

2mins: After a bright start from Malaysia, Kane gets himself on the ball before feeding Carroll in space on the right.

The Spurs youngster sees his cross deflected for a corner.

We’re underway in Kuala Lumpur as Tottenham, in their new home kit, start with the ball.

The players are out on the pitch at the Shah Alam Stadium and the weather seems to have settled following a storm shortly before kick-off.

The crowd seem to be in good voice despite what looks to be a half-empty stadium. Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris leads the handshakes.

Tottenham: Lloris (c), Yedlin, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Carroll, Stambouli, Townsend, Eriksen, Winks; Kane

Subs: Vorm, McGee, Walker-Peters, Bentaleb, Chadli, Dembele, Lamela, Mason, Onomah, Ward
