Arsenal’s tough start to 2021/22 Premier League season

The 2021/22 Premier League fixtures have been announced on Wednesday, June 16th.

Arsenal are set to kick off their campaign on Saturday, August 14th with a clash against Premier League new boys, Brentford.

After facing off with the Bees, however, the Gunners are then handed a fairly tough run of games.

Arsenal must host Chelsea after Brentford, with that meeting then followed by an away clash with Manchester City.

Slightly easier ties vs Norwich and Burnley then begin September, but the north Londoners must then take on Tottenham on September 25th:

The releasing of the fixtures also revealed who Arsenal would have to face without a number of their players due to the African Cup of Nations taking place during the forthcoming season.

Arsenal have a number of players from Africa, including Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny.

And, that quartet are now set to miss the second North London Derby of the season, which takes place on January 15th.

They are also expected to miss out on a home meeting with Burnley:
