Tino Anjorin close to signing a new long-term deal at Chelsea – Independent

Chelsea’s youth prospering

Since Frank Lampard took the reins at Chelsea, the Blues have focused heavily on their young talents.

Chelsea have had a number of talented prospects in their youth ranks for many years but they often don’t get a chance to showcase their talents in the first-team.

Under Lampard though, a number of Chelsea youth products have either made their senior debuts or been handed a lot more opportunities.

Tammy Abraham, who had made just a handful of appearances for the capital giants before this season, is now their main striker and top scorer.

And the likes of Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Fikayo Tomori have all made their senior Chelsea debuts under Lampard with both Tomori and James being handed significant roles.

Anjorin close to signing new deal

Chelsea have also tied down both James and Tomori to new deals this season.

The capital giants now look to have their sights set on tying down another of their academy products.

Tino Anjorin is probably less known than the likes of James and Tomori. But he to has made his senior debut this term, coming off the bench in the League Cup vs Grimsby Town.

Anjorin has also been tipped by teammate Reece James to break into the Blues’ first-team:

“Be on the look out for Tino Anjorin. He’s debuted already but he’s one who can break into the first team.” As quoted by the Mirror.

And now, as per the Independent, the 18-year-old is close to signing a new long-term deal.

The report from the Independent claims that due to the coronavirus, clubs signing new players and keeping hold of their current stars may move more slowly but it has not ground to a halt. And Anjorin’s new Chelsea deal continues to edge towards completion.
