Thomas Partey could return for Arsenal vs Leeds

Arsenal vs Leeds

Arsenal return to action on Sunday afternoon, taking on Leeds United in a Premier League clash.

The Gunners will head into the tie no doubt desperate to end their mini dip in form.

Arsenal had been on a solid run until recently. But Mikel Arteta’s side, after a questionable dismissal in their clash with Wolves, went on to lose both that tie and their subsequent outing vs Aston Villa on Saturday.

Said losses saw Arsenal slip down to 10th in the Premier League table.

The north Londoners are also now nine points adrift of a Champions League spot, with the majority of sides above them boasting at least one game in hand on them.

As a result, if Arsenal are even hoping to finish in a Europa League spot this term, they really need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

Beating Leeds United is easier said than done, though. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been let down by some questionable defending this season, but they can give any side in the league a run for their money when it comes to attacking prowess.

Thomas Partey injury update

Ahead of what is no doubt set to be a tough game, however, Arsenal look to have been handed a boost on the personnel front.

Thomas Partey would limp out of Arsenal’s defeat to Villa over the weekend.

Speaking post-match, Mikel Arteta confirmed the African had a muscle problem, with Arsenal fans left no doubt fearing the worst:

However, according to a report from football.london on Monday, Partey’s injury is not serious and he could be back in time to take on Leeds:
