Updates on the fitness of a key pair of Arsenal players ahead of the international break have been provided recently.

Arsenal impress despite injury blows

Arsenal headed into the current international break on a fine run of form.

The Gunners have now gone unbeaten in their last eight Premier League outings, winning six and drawing two – a far cry from the awful start to the seaosn they had which saw them lose three, concede nine and score zero.

Now though, after eight games unbeaten, the north Londoners have climbed up to 5th in the Premier League table and are actually only three points adrift of 2nd place and two points off Liverpool.

This, though, comes despite Arsenal having to make do without the services of several key players.

Granit Xhaka is of course currently sidelined for some time. But elsewhere, both Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney have been dealing with issues of their own.

Tierney has been out the longest of the duo, missing three games across all competitions whilst then not making it off the bench against Watford this past weekend.

As for Partey, he would miss out on the Watford game completely.

Partey & Tierney latest

And though players such as Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have stepped up in the pair’s absence, Arsenal will no doubt be keen to have the experienced duo back as soon as possible.

Now, as mentioned above, insight’s into both Partey and Tierney’s fitness has been provided.

According to the Evening Standard, Partey is yet to link up with Ghana for the international break and is unlikely to play in their match against Ethiopia on Thursday.

However, it is added that Partey could be used for the game with South Africa on Sunday. This seems to suggest that the injury that kept him out against Watford is not that serious and he should be back to face Liverpool later this month.

As for Tierney, the Evening Standard published another report which stated that the left-back is fully fit and ready to take part in Scotland’s World Cup qualifiers this week.
