‘The 14th is coming’ – Sagna among former Arsenal stars to wish Gunners luck ahead of FA Cup final

A number of former Arsenal stars have taken to social media over the last 24 hours, to wish their one-time employers the best ahead of the FA Cup final.

Arsenal vs Chelsea

Mikel Arteta’s men are of course set to play out the final outing of a difficult campaign this evening.

The Gunners have once again flattered to deceive in 2019/20, culminating in an 8th-placed finish in the Premier League table, and a Europa League exit at the hands of Olympiacos.

Securing FA Cup glory versus London rivals Chelsea later today, though, would no doubt go a long way towards easing the doom and gloom surrounding the Emirates at present.

Not only would a triumph at Wembley mark Mikel Arteta’s first piece of silverware since taking his place in the dugout, but it would also book Arsenal’s spot in Europe for next season.

This, in turn, would secure much-needed funds to be utilised on the transfer front this summer, potentially proving the key in tieing star man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new contract.

‘Feeling the 14th…’

As such, ahead of what could prove a defining moment in the recent history of the club, Arsenal will no doubt be absolutely desperate to get one over on Chelsea in an hour’s time.

And, as outlined above, a number of the Gunners’ former stars are evidently well aware of the crucial nature of this evening’s outcome.

The likes of Bacary Sagna, Ray Parlour and Mohamed Elneny (on loan at Besiktas) have all taken to Twitter today, to wish the Gunners the best of luck in their attempts to secure the club’s latest FA Cup crown:

The sidelined Shkodran Mustafi, meanwhile, also had a message of encouragement for his teammates:
