Szoboszlai’s agent claims Arsenal-linked winger is ‘closer now to leaving the Austrian league’

Arsenal linked with Szoboszlai

Recent weeks have seen Arsenal linked quite heavily with Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian is currently plying his trade in Austria with RB Salzburg, who he joined on a free in January of 2018.

The 20-year-old has since gone on to notch 74 appearances for the Austrian outfit, in which he has scored 22 and assisted 33.

Szoboszlai has also impressed for his national side of late, scoring a crucial goal last week which would see Hungary qualify for Euro 2020.

Still unfamiliar with Szoboszlai? 101 has detailed the Hungarian in our player profile project – find out everything you need to know below:

Szoboszlai’s agent discusses his client’s future

Following his latest strike for Hungary, Arsenal fans took to social media in their droves to urge their side to sign Szoboszlai.

Now, with speculation continuing to mount, Szoboszlai’s agent has spoken out about his client’s future.

And from an Arsenal perspective or any other potential suitor’s perspective, the comments were quite positive.

Esterhazy Matyas stated that it is important his client goes somewhere he can continue to play regularly before adding that Szoboszlai is now closer to leaving the Australian top-flight:

“We’re seeing that every time he has a good game, which fortunately is happening quite often, the rumours are getting stronger.

“However, our strategy isn’t going to change because of one or two games,

“We have belief in our own plans and the vision we had originally is only getting stronger because all of the comments we are reading only prove that we are on the right path.

“Whether it’s in January or next summer, the most important thing is that he goes to a club where he will have a good chance of playing regularly and continuing the learning curve he started in Salzburg – that’s the most important thing for us.

“Obviously, it’s no secret that Dominik is closer now to leaving the Austrian league.”
