‘Stop saying s**t’ – Aurier’s response to claims Spurs career is hanging in balance as Ivorian omitted from squad vs Brighton

Serge Aurier’s no-nonsense response to media speculation surrounding his future has taken centre stage online, after the stopper was left out of Tottenham’s squad to take on Brighton.

Trouble in the camp

Aurier’s name was of course the subject of widespread focus during the week, on the back of Spurs’ meeting with Liverpool.

The Lilywhites welcomed Jurgen Klopp’s struggling champions to north London, but were eventually condemned to a 3-1 defeat.

It was only after proceedings in the capital came to a close, though, that the true fallout stemming from Tottenham’s latest damaging defeat was revealed.

As per a host of sources, Jose Mourinho’s decision to haul off Serge Aurier at the interval of the clash did not go down at all well with the Ivorian.

This came with the Portuguese tactician having made clear his frustration with his side’s defending, en route to conceding the game’s opener (which was created down Aurier’s side).

A ‘heated’ exchange, in turn, is said to have ensued between the pair, with the Tottenham stopper left ‘angry and hurt’ by his boss’ words.

This eventually resulted in Aurier storming out of the stadium at the interval, before driving straight home.

Aurier absent

The former PSG man’s actions, meanwhile, have since proven costly.

Jose Mourinho’s matchday squad to take on Brighton & Hove Albion this evening was unveiled a short time ago, with Aurier nowhere to be seen:

In turn, if feels safe to assume that the stopper, who doesn’t exactly have a spotless disciplinary record to his name from years gone by, has been dropped for the time being.

Aurier, though, despite the damning circumstances of the situation, appears ready to defend his corner.

After stumbling across a post on Instagram last night, which suggested that the 28-year-old is now ‘fighting for his career’, Aurier responded, with a simple message:

‘Stop saying s**t’
