Rodgers shoots-down links to Man United post

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers set fire to any links that were connecting the Northern Irishman to the Manchester United job amidst growing speculation surrounding the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Old Trafford.

Via the Mirror, Rodgers was adamant that is focus is solely on Leicester City and dispelled any links with interest in signing up with the Red Devils;

“I don’t even think about it – and that’s the brutal honesty. I’m sure the supporters are probably tired of it. At Leicester, there is always a link.

My focus is always here with Leicester and developing the football club on to that next level, where you’re competing for European football and challenging for honours.

Everyone here at the club, from the chief executive to the director of football – staff, players – we’re all very much on the same path, same vision.”

Leicester finding form after tough start

Despite links with Manchester United, Brendan Rodgers has got to get his Foxes on song this term after a very tough start to the 2021-22 Premier League season that saw the King Power outfit begin the season with a 2-2-3 record before going on their current four-match undefeated run (2-2-0) which included wins against the aforementioned United as well as a tricky Brentford outfit.

Though Jamie Vardy has been his traditional goal-scoring self this season, Leicester’s early-season struggles had some feeling like the club would be unable to push on this term after back-to-back 5th-place finishes in the last two seasons.

The current form on display shows that the club may be back on track in the league while Rodgers and his Foxes are in the thick of it in their Europa League campaign as they remain in a dogfight in Group C with Legia Warszawa, Napoli, and Spartak Moscow.
