Remaining four English sides join Chelsea & Man City in leaving Super League

European Super League exodus begins

The European Super League was of course announced on Sunday evening.

The competition had 12 founding members, six of whom came from the Premier League.

These sides came in the form of Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United.

Just over 48 hours after the league was announced, though, it now looks set to collapse.

Word was first forthcoming early on Tuesday evening that both Chelsea and Manchester City had begun proceedings to withdraw:

City then became the first side to officially announce their intentions to leave a short time later.
