PSG reach reported agreement with Spurs to take Alli on loan but Mourinho expects him to stay

Mourinho is still expecting Dele Alli to remain at Spurs despite reports PSG have reached agreement to take him on loan.

Alli to PSG

Dele Alli has experienced a torrid time with Jose Mourinho this season after barely featuring and falling out of favour completely with the Portuguese coach. Alli joined Tottenham Hotspur from MK Dons and flourished in the side under Mauricio Pochettino.

During Mourinho’s first season at the club Alli still featured for the Portuguese manager but the new campaign has sparked a change in selection and the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovanni Lo Celso have been favoured to the England international.

However the news broke on Wednesday of a possible loan deal being agreed with PSG.

Any deal agreed with the French champions would see Alli reunite with his former coach Pochettino who has taken over at the French capital club.

Mourinho denies claims

Although, despite the news that the two clubs have seemingly reached an agreement, Jose Mourinho spoke in his press conference today and disregarded the idea of Alli leaving.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United coach said that he expected very little movement from the club in the final days of the winter window.

“I expect [Alli to still be here],” Mourinho said. “I’m saying that since the beginning of the transfer window. I was not expecting anyone to leave, I was not expecting anyone to come.”
