De Bruyne’s Man City stint
Kevin De Bruyne is, of course, one of Manchester City’s standout stars.
The midfielder has been integral to the Sky Blues’ success for many years now, meaning losing him would mark a huge blow.
In 255 outings for City, the midfielder has notched 65 goals and 105 assists, with his latest impressive showing coming on Tuesday evening vs Borussia Dortmund.
De Bruyne scored City’s first of the day and played a key role in Foden’s strike.

At 29, meanwhile, the Belgian looks likely to have a few good years left in him at the top level.
De Bruyne’s current Man City contract runs until 2023.
However, the Sky Blues are thought to have been attempting to extend the Belgian’s deal for some time now.
Concerningly, though, it was reported in January that KDB had been left ‘annoyed’ by one of City’s more recent offers.
It was then reported last month that Man City had offered KDB a new contract, after the Belgian rejected their first proposal.
De Bruyne agrees new terms
Now, though, Manchester City have announced on Wednesday morning that their star midfielder has signed an extension with the Sky Blues until 2025:

After agreeing his new deal, De Bruyne had this to say:
“I could not be happier.
“Since joining City in 2015, I have felt at home. I love the fans, my family are settled here in Manchester and my own game has developed really well.
“This football club is geared for success. It offers me everything I need to maximise my performance, so signing this contract was a straightforward decision. I am playing the best football of my career and I honestly feel there is more to come.
“Pep and I see football in the same way. Having that relationship with a manager is so important to me because our objectives are totally aligned and we want the same things.
“My focus now is on ensuring we have a successful end to the current campaign. Our results and performances so far have been excellent, but we need to make sure we end the season with the silverware we deserve.”
