Mikel Arteta pleased with how quickly Gabriel has adapted to life at Arsenal/Ceballos available for Leicester clash

Arsenal vs Leicester

Sunday’s Premier League action comes to a close at 7:15 pm UK time, when Arsenal welcome Leicester to the Emirates.

Both sides are set to head into the clash on the back of Europa League victories on Thursday.

However, it is Arsenal who look the more in-form side as things stand.

Granted, the Gunners have lost two league fixtures already this season. But those defeats came at the hands of Liverpool and Manchester City.

As for Leicester, they have also been dealt two league losses, though the Foxes’ came against lesser opposition, in the form of West Ham and Aston Villa.

It is also worth noting that Arsenal have already ousted Leicester from the League Cup.

Arteta pleased with Gabriel

As such, Mikel Arteta’s side will likely feel pretty confident ahead of Sunday’s game.

Ahead of his side’s latest outing, meanwhile, the Spaniard recently spoke to Arsenal’s official website.

During the interview, Arteta was drawn on the promising start to life which Gabriel has enjoyed in north London.

Despite having only made a handful of appearances, the Brazilian already looks one of, if not the most reliable member of Arsenal’s backline.

When drawn on the 22-year-old, Arteta was therefore understandably quick to draw attention to just how quickly Gabriel has managed to adapt to his new surroundings, whilst also praising the stopper’s ‘great mentality’:

“We saw qualities in him that is exactly what we wanted.

“But then you move him from France to here at an early age, without talking the language, to adapt to a new way of playing as well and he has done it really quickly and is showing a great mentality as well because we threw him in against Fulham after three or four training sessions and you could see the performance he had there.”

Arsenal team news

Arsenal have also provided a team news update on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners confirmed that Dani Ceballos is now back in training, and available to face Leicester.

However, Rob Holding is set to be out of action for around three weeks, whilst Willian is still being assessed ahead of Sunday’s clash.
