Michy Batshuayi takes to social media to joke about sitting out Palace vs Chelsea

Crystal Palace loanee Michy Batshuayi has taken to Twitter this evening, to provide a lighthearted take on his absence versus parent club Chelsea.

London derby

The final Premier League fixture of the day is set to play out at Selhurst Park shortly.

The matchup in question will see capital rivalries renewed, when Crystal Palace play host to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

The latter, for obvious reasons, will head into proceedings as favourites to bag all 3 points, as Tuchel and co. eye a swift return to the Premier League’s top-4.

Hosts Palace, though, will no doubt take confidence from the Blues’ most recent domestic showing, which eventually culminated in a 5-2 drubbing at the hands of West Brom last weekend.

Batsman reacts

Palace’s efforts to secure an upset this evening, however, will come with the Eagles unable to call on the difference-maker from their last outing, versus Everton.

After being introduced off the bench at Goodison Park last weekend, Michy Batshuayi quickly came up trumps, netting a late equaliser to secure a hard-fought share of the spoils for Roy Hodgson’s men:

This evening’s matchup, though, of course comes against Batshuayi’s parent club – Chelsea.

In turn, the Belgian is not eligible to feature, as per the Premier League’s rules on loan agreements.

If Batshuayi’s latest social media activity is anything to go by, though, then the hitman does not appear to be overly upset with missing out.

Taking to Twitter a short time ago, ‘the Batsman’ posted a lighthearted message, inspired by popular children’s show Spongebob Squarepants:
