Manchester United’s supporters will not be happy with the outcome of emergency post-Watford meeting

A fresh insight into the managerial situation at Manchester United has been provided late on Saturday evening.

Dennis rounds out rout

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of course led his troops back into Premier League action earlier today.

In their first fixture on the back of the international break, the Red Devils made the trip to Vicarage Road, aware that nothing but a win would suffice up against Claudio Ranieri’s Watford.

Ultimately, however, such a result was not forthcoming.

Instead, it was hosts Watford who went on to run riot, on their way to a deserved three-point haul.

After all of Josh King, Ismaila Sarr, Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis found the target, substitute Donny van de Beek’s headed finish early in the 2nd-half was left to stand as little more than a Manchester United consolation.

Ole survives?

In turn, on the back of another harrowing 90 minutes coming to a close for all associated with the club, it did not come as a huge surprise to see speculation quickly begin to mount surrounding the situation on the United bench on Saturday evening.

As confirmed by reliable outlet The Times, an ’emergency meeting’ was called at Old Trafford a short time ago, to open discussions over the potential sacking of Solskjaer.

The meeting was widely expected to culminate in a change at the helm on the red half of Manchester, amid the common agreement that Solskjaer no longer represents the right man to lead the Red Devils forward.

If the ensuing word spreading online tonight is anything to go by, however, then, incredibly, the United faithful may yet be forced to wait a while longer before seeing their side’s boss sent on his way.

This comes amid Sky Sports’ claim that Solskjaer’s future, in fact, remains ‘undecided’ after tonight’s round of discussions:
