Supporters were scanned with detectors as they arrived at Old Trafford last night before Manchester United’s clash with PSV Eindhoven.
Fans embarking on Old Trafford were patted down before being given a full scan in response to the terror attacks in Paris earlier this month.
A security source told Sportsmail that it is a trend which is set to continue in the coming weeks and could carry on indefinitely.

Manchester United fans have been searched outside Old Trafford as they arrived to watch their team

Security was stepped up outside the stadium in Manchester, with large numbers of police present
Scores of security staff lined outside the stadium’s East Stand in a bid to keep more than 75,000 fans safe of any potential threat.
The move comes after the atrocities in France where a total of 130 people were killed as a result of a terrorist attack.
La Marseillaise was played before each Premier League game over the weekend after England paid its respects ahead of the friendly against France a few days prior.
Chelsea deployed sniffer dogs before their win over Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, while other security measures were taken elsewhere.
United are hoping to book their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League with one game to spare when they host PSV.

Once they got inside the United fans will have been disappointed to see their team play out a goalless draw
