Man United hammer LASK

Manchester United were in Europa League action on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils travelled to Austria for the first of two round of 16 ties against LASK.

LASK are flying high in the Austrian Bundesliga and look set to lift their first league title since 1965.

However, despite their impressive league form, Man United proved too strong a test for LASK on Thursday.

Odion Ighalo eventually broke the deadlock for Man United after 28 minutes with a superb strike.

LASK were able to keep the score at 1-0 into the second 45 but after Daniel James made it 2-0 inside 58 minutes, the floodgates opened with Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira all getting in on the goalscoring action.

The Manchester powerhouse now look nailed on for a place in the Europa League quarter-finals as it is hard to see them blowing a 5-goal lead in the return leg at Old Trafford.

That second leg was scheduled to take place next week, but the Europa league has since been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
