Manchester United have revived their interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
The 21-year-old has been on the club’s radar since he was a teenager and has also been followed closely by Arsenal and Liverpool.
However, Atletico have no desire to sell and Saul wants to stay in Spain.
The Spain Under 21 international has broken into Atletico’s first team following injury to Tiago and is a key player for coach Diego Simeone.

Though there is a trigger clause in his contract understood to be set at £19.5million, he has no desire to leave after getting his chance to play regularly and with Atletico chasing three trophies.

Simeone values him as highly as midfield maestro Koke and that has given him confidence he can kick on this season.
Saul plays as a holding player but can also operate on the left of midfield. He has scored five goals this season and is second top scorer behind Antoine Griezmann.
United were willing to open with a £15m offer. They have followed him since he was 18 but may have better chance of signing him in the summer should Simeone leave also.
United are also monitoring Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes at Valencia but face competition from the likes of Juventus
