Manchester United’s interest in John Stones at Everton has been stirred as they believe Chelsea will make a big bid this summer.
Sportsmail reported on May 7 how Chelsea are confirmed admirers of the 21-year-old and want to add him to their squad. Manchester City have also asked to be kept informed of any developments while Arsenal like him but may struggle to outbid their rivals.
Stones, who was a United fan as a boy, was signed for Everton by David Moyes ahead of competition from then-United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

England Under 21 defender John Stones is wanted by the Premier League’s top four clubs
United have been impressed by Stones’ progression, particularly his calmness under pressure and ability on the ball. He also scored his first Everton goal against them in the 3-0 win at Goodison in April.
Everton are batting away interest in their stars with the likes of Stones, James McCarthy, Muhamed Besic, Romelu Lukaku and Seamus Coleman all subject to interest from Premier League sides and some abroad.
Stones needs to play regularly though to continue his development and boost his chances of playing in the European Championship with England.

Everton need defenders after releasing Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz.
They have asked about Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann and Augsburg centre back Ragnar Klavan. The vastly experienced Estonia captain, 29, was outstanding last season as Augsburg secured Europa League qualification.
Manchester City insist they have yet to formalise their bid for Paul Pogba though one is expected.
Barcelona are considered favourites for France international Pogba but they will struggle to match City’s financial muscle. The player’s agent Mino Raiola says it will take £72million to buy the 22-year-old and Juventus coach Massimo Allegri says such offers will ‘make it hard to say no’.

France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba remains at the head of Manchester City’s transfer wishlist
Juventus are considering where they can spend such money with Zenit’s Axel Witsel earmarked as a replacement but they are also considering hefty bids for either Chelsea’s Oscar or Isco of Real Madrid as they seek more creativity behind their strikers.
City are continuing to push for Raheem Sterling too but Liverpool insist their valuation of the England international is over £50million. They are privately prepared to sit out this window without selling if City persist in falling short of their valuation.
City need homegrown talent and want Fulham’s 18-year-old forward Patrick Roberts while midfielder James Ward-Prowse of Southampton has also been discussed.

City are still pursuing England winger Raheem Sterling but are reluctant to meet Liverpool’s £50m valuation
Helping offset the spending, Roma are willing to discuss a move for City striker Edin Dzeko but the key is whether they can come up with £20m for the 29-year-old.
Udinese want City’s John Guidetti although the 23-year-old is out of contract next month anyway. He had a successful loan spell at Celtic last season and has had a series of loans at Burnley, Feyenoord and Stoke City too. He has also held talks with Sporting Lisbon.
Paris Saint Germain pose a real threat to Arsenal’s hopes of signing Petr Cech.
The 32-year-old will hold talks with Chelsea on Monday when it is expected he will confirm his desire to move away and play more regular first team football.

Arsenal remain favourites to sign Chelsea’s Petr Cech but could face competition from big-spending PSG
Arsenal are favourites to sign the Czech Republic international but Jose Mourinho would prefer the amiable Cech to move abroad.
PSG have held discussions and are keen to sign him which would suit Chelsea and Cech is not averse to moving to the French capital.
Chelsea are closing on a loan arrangement with Monaco for Radamel Falcao after further talks on Sunday.
Talks are ongoing but Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic has been offered as a makeweight in the deal to Monaco. The French league side also asked about Chelsea’s 18-year-old Belgian midfielder Charly Musonda Jr who impressed in the UEFA Youth League last season.
The 20-year-old Croatia international Pasalic was on loan at Elche in Spain last season and has been targeted by Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan in recent weeks. Chelsea are willing to loan Pasalic with the possibility of an £11m buyout option. They bought him from Hajduk Split last year for £3m.

Chelsea are still confident they can turn around Radamel Falcao’s fortunes at Stamford Bridge
Monaco want a midfielder as they face losing Geoffrey Kondogbia who is wanted by AC Milan and is the subject of enquiries from Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah is considering a loan move to Inter Milan. The Egyptian is on an 18 month loan to Fiorentina but is understood to have power of veto should he wish to cut short the deal.
Tottenham have been offered the chance to revive interest in Russia international Alan Dzagoev. The 24-year-old is available from CSKA Moscow with the club looking for £16m.
Dzagoev was an option for Tottenham in 2012 and 18 months ago. He is well liked by staff but they are unsure where he could fit into their squad. Dzagoev can play as a second striker, as a playmaker or on the left of midfield.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are among clubs showing interest in Marc Bartra of Barcelona.
The centre-back will be allowed to leaved for around £8.7million this summer and Mauricio Pochettino is keen with Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches expected to leave in this window.
Crystal Palace are considering a loan bid for Tottenham full-back Ben Davies.
The 22-year-old moved from Swansea last summer but was in and out of the starting eleven and then injured his shoulder.
He is keen to start more regularly and Palace could offer him that chance. Manager Alan Pardew is looking to strengthen this summer with Yohan Cabaye top of his wishlist and also plans contract talks with midfielder James McArthur who is a target for Norwich City.
Aston Villa forward Andreas Weimann is poised to join Derby County this week in a £2.5million deal.
Manager Paul Clement is quickly building a squad to challenge for promotion having already signed Wigan goalkeeper Scott Carson, Reading defender Alex Pearce and Weimann’s former teammate Darren Bent on a free from Aston Villa.

Derby also remain keen on a deal for Hull City winger Tom Ince. The Championship club are able to enact a £4.5million clause to sign the England U21 international owing to the terms of his loan agreement last season.
Weimann, 23, is an Austria international and scored four goals in 35 appearances last season.
Villa right-back Matthew Lowton, 26, remains a target for Burnley as they look to replace Keiran Trippier who is destined for Tottenham but is a back-up option for Liverpool if they fail to sign Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton.
West Ham are pressing ahead with talks for Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet.
The 28-year-old France international playmaker is available for around £6m and has been considered by Everton but is more keen on a move to London.
West Ham have also been offered Crystal Palace target Yohan Cabaye from Paris St Germain and have enquired about Loic Remy at Chelsea.

New boss Slaven Bilic is happy to renew their loan deal with Carl Jenkinson of Arsenal but Sunderland have also offered the £2m loan fee and a willingness to cover the 23-year-old’s wages.
Sheffield Wednesday want Genk striker Jelle Vossen.
The Belgian had a moderately successful loan spell at Middlesbrough last season and Wednesday want him to fire them into the promotion places. A deal is being discussed at around £3million.
Wednesday expect to announce Carlos Carvalhal as their new manager to replace Stuart Gray.
Barcelona sporting director Ariedo Braida has confirmed that he will fly to Brazil next week to sign Fluminense teenagers Gerson and Kenedy.
Manchester United and particularly Chelsea have held interest in Kenedy, who is a 19-year-old forward that has drawn comparisons to Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk.

Gerson, 18, is a midfielder. Braida said: ‘There’s a Barcelona intermediary who lives in Brazil and has been working on this.’ He told Gazzetta TV: ‘There’s a purchase option for the pair that was agreed some time ago.’
Sunderland are signing AIK left-back Oscar Krusnell. The 16 year-old Swedish prospect will join Sunderland’s youth team next season.
Krusnell told Swedish media: ‘It’s exciting. I’m a little nervous, but it feels good.’ He will do pre-season with AIK’s senior squad before leaving for England.
