Lingard improving with West Ham
Jesse Lingard has enjoyed something of a career revival over the last few months.
The 28-year-old majorly struggled for any sort of regular action with Manchester United over the first half of the campaign.
He notched just three appearances for the Red Devils, all of which came in cup competitions.
As a result, it didn’t come as too much of a surprise when United allowed Lingard to depart Old Trafford on loan during the winter window.
What has since proven surprising, though, is just how impressive the midfielder has looked with West Ham.
In just seven league outings for David Moyes’ outfit, Lingard has notched five goals and three assists.
Such fine form has seen Lingard recalled to the England squad for the first time since June of 2019, with the midfielder making his first appearance since being recalled vs San Marino on Thursday.
To be able to wear this shirt again means the world to me! It’s been a long journey back but makes this moment even sweeter!!

Lingard to stay at Man United?
Following his return to form for West Ham, the general assumption appeared to be that Lingard, now 28 and with just one year left on his contract in the summer, would be moved on in the upcoming winter window.
After all, Lingard was used sparingly by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the last year with all of Mason Greenwood, Daniel James and now Amad Diallo seemingly above him in United’s attacking pecking order.
There was also little room for him in a central role, with Bruno Fernandes of course taking up the most advanced spot in United’s midfield.
However, a recent report from the Sun has now cast doubt over a Lingard exit.
They report that OGS has been hugely impressed by Lingard, with United set to assess whether to bring him back into the Old Trafford fold, whilst also not ruling outing giving him a new deal.
