Manchester City have reportedly been handed a potential boost on the personal front ahead of their return to action this weekend.

Tottenham vs Man City

Manchester City face a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.

The clash marks City’s first following the latest international break and is also potentially quite important when it comes to the title race.

Spurs will head into the tie sitting 2nd in the Premier League table after a fine start to the campaign, which has seen them go undefeated in the league since the opening weekend.

As for Manchester City, their form hasn’t been too great this term.

Granted, they have only lost once, but the Sky Blues have also drawn three of their seven league ties so far in 2020/21, a record which puts them 10th in the table ahead of the return to domestic football.

Key trio could feature for Man City vs Tottenham

As a result, a win over a high-flying Tottenham does seem pretty imperative this weekend.

So, Pep Guardiola will no doubt be keen to start as strong a side as possible in London on Saturday.

And as mentioned above, City do look to have been handed a bit of a personal boost ahead of their return to action.

Sergio Aguero has been sidelined for a good chunk of the campaign due to injury issues, whilst Raheem Sterling missed England’s loss to Belgium on Sunday with an injury.

However, according to Goal, City could have all of Aguero, Sterling and Fernandinho in the squad for the trip to Tottenham as they all battle back to full fitness.

On Sterling, Goal add that the forward is likely to miss England’s game with Iceland on Wednesday, but could potentially be back for Saturday’s game against Spurs as his injury is thought not to be too severe.
