Man United’s fans will love the latest word on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future

A fresh insight into the future of Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been forthcoming over the last 24 hours.

Reds continue to stutter

The subject of the hotseat at Old Trafford has of course taken centre stage in the media for several weeks now.

This comes as pressure continues to mount on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Norwegian tactician Solskjaer has overseen a less than impressive opening to the season on the red half of Manchester, despite the summer arrivals of all of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

A 2-0 defeat at the hands of cross-town rivals Man City last time out means that United entered the latest international break sitting 6th in the Premier League table, a full nine points adrift of table-topping Chelsea.

Not only that, but the Red Devils have also been ousted from the Carabao Cup, and required last-gasp heroics on the part of the aforementioned Ronaldo to remain in contention for a spot in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Such woes, in turn, have seen calls amongst the United faithful begin to mount for the club’s boss to be sent on his way, to make room for a manager with a proven track record of securing silverware at the highest level.

Ole on the way out?

And, if the latest word doing the rounds in the media this week is anything to go by, then those of such a persuasion could yet soon have their prayers answered.

As per a report from Football Insider, citing sources at Old Trafford, Solskjaer will indeed take charge of United’s next outing, away at Watford on Saturday week.

However, contrary to claims elsewhere, it is assured that the Norwegian’s spot on the bench is in no way safe for the remainder of the campaign.

In fact:

Solskjaer is expected to be sacked by Man United if he does not oversee a revival in the matches immediately after the international break.

This comes amid a ‘growing appetite’ on the part of those in a position of power at the Theatre of Dreams for action to be taken over Solskjaer’s continued struggles.
