Man United one of four clubs rumoured to have tabled offer for James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez

The latest media speculation stemming from Spain suggests that a quartet of clubs have tabled offers for out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez.

Real outcast

Colombian international Rodriguez has endured yet another disappointing campaign in the Spanish capital.

After returning to the Bernabeu on the back of a hit-and-miss two-year loan stint with Bayern Munich last summer, the 29-year-old was handed another chance to prove himself by Zinedine Zidane.

And, though Real have enjoyed a fine season which has seen Los Blancos wrestle back La Liga supremacy from Barcelona, Rodriguez, on an individual level, has once again struggled.

Sitting behind the likes of Isco, Eden Hazard and the recently-returned Marco Asensio in the attacking pecking order in Madrid, the former Monaco man managed starts in just 5 of his side’s 38 league outings.

In turn, Rodriguez has managed to find the net on a paltry single occasion across the entirety of the campaign.

Premier League bound?

As such, ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window, it has come as little surprise to see Rodriguez linked with a fresh departure from the Bernabeu.

Whether it be on a permanent basis or via a loan, it appears almost certain that the South American will be on the move ahead of the 2020/21 season.

And, as outlined above, an insight into some of the clubs eyeing up Rodriguez’s signature has today been provided.

The news comes courtesy of El Chiringuito TV, and suggests that not only are a quartet of sides interested in the Real midfielder, but all 4 have already tabled offers for his signature.

The clubs in question are Manchester United, Benfica, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

No further information is provided, with it, at present, unclear what each proposal entails, or whether Los Merengues’ transfer chiefs are ready to sanction a sale.
