Man City vs Liverpool

Manchester City and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head later this afternoon in the weekend’s marquee Premier League tie.

Liverpool started the weekend top of the league, but have since been knocked off top spot by Southampton, Tottenham and Leicester.

As for Manchester City, they have had quite a rough start to the season, which currently sees them languishing in the bottom half of the table.

Granted, the Sky Blues have played one or two games less than the majority of sides, but some of their displays have still been slightly concerning.

In recent seasons, this tie has seen the top two teams in England battling it out.

Liverpool, of course, won the league last term with City finishing second.

And the season prior would see Pep Guardiola’s side emerge victorious with Liverpool just one point behind.

However, ahead of Sunday’s game, City no.1 Ederson has voiced the opinion that this campaign will not see the title race decided between two teams – but instead perhaps six or seven:

“This is not a usual season, the teams out of the ‘Big Six’ have all started well.

“Aston villa, Everton and Southampton have all shown good performances lately. They have a lot of quality players and they’ve all had a good pre-season to start at the highest level.

“This year it will be different, it will be tighter, and I think the title race won’t between two teams, but six or seven sides.”
