Man City’s David Silva in talks with Valencia & Aymeric Laporte’s two superb donations

Man City’s David Silva in talks with Valencia

David Silva, 34, is set to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

Of course, it’s still unknown if the 2019-20 Premier League season will resume.

Silva has enjoyed a remarkable decade with the Sky Blues, establishing himself as one of the best foreigners to ever play in England.

With City, Silva has won the Premier League four times, the FA Cup twice and he’s lifted the League Cup on four occasions.

On Tuesday, the Times confirm that when his time at Man City is up, David Silva could head back to Valencia, which was the midfielder’s first club:

David Silva could return to Valencia when he leaves City later this year.

Silva’s contract expires at the end of June, but the 34-year-old is expected to extend his deal with the club until the culmination of the campaign, which has been halted by coronavirus.

Valencia have opened talks with the midfielder over a potential three-year deal.

Aymeric Laporte has made two superb donations

French defender Aymeric Laporte has made two wonderful donations in recent days.

Alexis Vastine was a French boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Sadly, he passed away in 2015 in a helicopter accident.

Last weekend, in an effort to raise money for French health workers, Vastine’s father decided to auction off some of his son’s old gear.

That offer was promoted online by French handball player Cyril Dumoulin, who lead the initiative.

Laporte saw the promotion, and he bought the boxing gear for 5,000 pounds.

Brilliantly, Laporte then told Vastine’s family that they should keep hold of the items.

Cyril Dumoulin has since spoken to the Times to thank the Man City defender for his actions:

I want to thank Aymeric so much.

It’s absolutely awesome what he did to help the heroes who are saving us at this time, and his generosity and consideration mean we have given something back to the family of a guy who dedicated his life to sport.

Aymeric’s talent is great, and his heart is too.

But that’s not the only donation Laporte has given recently.

As well as supporting health workers in France, the Man City defender has also given a donation to the NHS in England via the Players Together fund.
