Man City reportedly set to offer Raheem Sterling fresh contract

An update regarding the future of England and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has emerged over the last 24 hours.

Sterling’s City stint

Sterling would join City in 2015, leaving Liverpool in a deal worth in excess of £50m.

The winger had a decent start with Liverpool, but it is in Manchester were Sterling really took his game to new heights, especially under Pep Guardiola.

In total, Sterling has notched 256 appearances across all competitions for the Citizens, in which he has scored a staggering 105 goals and provided 79 assists.

Sterling, now 25, has also been integral to Man City’s most successful period as a club.

The Englishman would score 18 and assist 15 in the league as City broke the Premier League’s point record and has continued to improve as each year goes by, netting an impressive 20 goals in 33 league outings last season.

Sterling set for new deal?

And in theory, Sterling is still only just beginning to enter his prime years.

As a result, City would no doubt love to keep him around as long as possible.

The former Liverpool star has just under three years left on his current deal.

But as per a report from the Mirror over the weekend, City are now keen to hand Sterling a fresh deal.

It is added that Man City have made new contracts for Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne their top priority:
