Lyon ready to sell Moussa Dembele/Chelsea & Man United keen – L’Equipe

A recent report stemming from France suggests that Olympique Lyonnais are ready to sanction the sale of in-demand attacker Moussa Dembele this summer.

Lyon standout

23-year-old hitman Dembele made a return to his home country in the summer of 2018, when the Frenchman joined Lyon from Celtic for €22 million.

And, on the back of an impressive stint with the Scottish champions, Dembele has since gone on to carry his goalscoring exploits back to Ligue 1.

The powerful attacker’s debut season at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais saw him rack up 20 goals and 6 assists across all competitions.

And Dembele has continued to impress to this point in the current campaign, having already found the back of the net on 22 occasions.

PL bound?

As such, the French talent, who has also been prolific for Les Bleus’ U21 side, is unsurprisingly beginning to catch the eye of some of European football’s heavyweights.

Reports earlier this season saw Manchester United heavily-linked with a swoop for Dembele.

Duncan Castles even went as far as to claim that contact had already been established with Lyon on the part of the Red Devils:

‘I can tell you there has been contact between Manchester United and individuals close to Moussa Dembele to assess the player’s interest in the move and to work out what the cost would be in terms of salary.’

Chelsea, meanwhile, were named as keen suitors of the attacker throughout the January transfer window.

And, if the latest speculation stemming from Dembele’s home country is to be believed, then the 23-year-old could well be soon be showcasing his talents under the bright lights of the Premier League.

As per a report from L’Equipe, Lyon are ready to allow Dembele to move upon the reopening of the transfer window.

The French outlet also name aforementioned sides Manchester United and Chelsea as suitors, with the latter thought to be particularly keen.

Though no potential fee is revealed, Dembele is likely to set any interested party back at least €50 million.

L’Equipe’s report also adds that fellow Lyon star Houssem Aouar, a rumoured target for the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Juventus, will not be allowed to depart the Groupama Stadium ahead of next season.
