Liverpool reportedly ready to offer Fabinho new contract

Liverpool reportedly ready to offer Fabinho new contract

Fabinho’s Liverpool stint

Fabinho joined Liverpool in the summer of 2018 from AS Monaco.

The Reds are understood to have paid somewhere in the region of £40m to bring the Brazilian to Anfield.

And, since making the move to England, Fabinho has firmly cemented himself as one of the Premier League’s best defensive-minded midfielders.

In total, Fabinho has notched 95 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three and assisting seven along the way.

The 27-year-old has also played a crucial role in the Reds’ recent successes, both domestically and in Europe.

As well as acting as a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield trio, though, what has taken Fabinho’s worth to another level altogether is his versatility.

The South American, amid Liverpool’s injury crisis, has regularly slotted into the club’s backline this season, continuing to impress along the way.

Fabinho set for new deal?

And now, it looks as though Fabinho is set to be rewarded for his hard work.

The midfielder has just over two and a half years remaining on his current contract at Anfield.

But, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, writing for The Guardian, Liverpool are keen to open negotiations with Fabinho over a new deal soon, with the former Monaco man said to be considered as one of the ‘untouchables’ at the club.

Fabinho is thought to earn around £100,000-a-week as things stand, with it added that the Premier League champions intend to offer their unsung hero a considerable pay-rise.
