Lille’s owner claims they received an offer from an English club for Tottenham-linked Osimhen in January

Lille’s president has recently claimed the French outfit have received multiple offers for Premier League-linked, Victor Osimhen.

Lille standout

After impressing in Belgium, Victor Osimhen made the switch to Ligue 1 this past August.

The centre-forward would join Lille for a fee understood to be just over £10m.

And despite his lack of experience in a ‘top-five’ league, Osimhen has gone on to light up the French first-division.

In 27 Ligue 1 outings this term, the Nigerian managed to net 13 and assist five for Les Dogues.

The 21-year-old has also, despite Lille’s rather poor displays in the competition, impressed in the Champions League this season, scoring twice in five outings, one of which came against Chelsea.

And whilst the 2019/20 Ligue 1 season has been brought to a premature end, there is no doubt Osimhen would have cracked the 20-goal mark in his first season at Lille had the campaign been played to completion, as he had already notched 18 goals across all competitions prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Osimhen a man in demand

That sort of return, understandably, looks to have attracted interest from some European heavyweights.

The eight-time capped international appears to have garnered particular interest from those in England, with all of Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United linked with the hitman this term.

The Lille’s stars agent has also recently claimed to have spoken with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho concerning his client.

And now, as mentioned earlier, Lille’s owner has stated that the club have had multiple offers for their star forward, with Gerard Lopez even going as far as to claim they turned down one English club back in January:

“There are multiple offers. We turned down one English and one Spanish offer this January transfer window.

“There is a wide array [this summer] and I wouldn’t want to give the names of the clubs who are bidding but what I can tell you is that there are multiple [offers]. There are three championships that have clubs that have bid for him.”
