Leonardo indicates that Neymar & Mbappe will sign renewal deals soon at PSG

Pochettino happy

Former Tottenham boss and now PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was exceptionally pleased after the 3-2 victory in Munich against Bayern. The Paris-based club bagged themselves 3 away goals and an advantage in the scoreline with the next match to be played in the French capital.

The game was an exceptional fixture for the neutral and featured 5 fantastically put together goals in addition to featuring Bayern’s typical dominance and an amazing counter attacking display by PSG.

Pochettino spoke of how the result, despite good, was only half the job.

“I am happy with the result and the attitude of the team, who found themselves in difficult situations against the best side in Europe,” Pochettino said.

“We need to congratulate the players for their sacrifice and we want to repeat this kind of performance.

“Ninety more minutes to play. It is a good result but the return leg will be difficult. We know that.”

Mbappe, Neymar renewals close?

After the victory, PSG sporting director Leonardo was quizzed on the futures of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and was positive in his response.

“We will also be happy to talk about contracts. We will have to see things and we will get to a more concrete situation with them soon, but now we have to focus on the competition, which we are entering the final phase,” said Leonardo.

Speaking to Di Marzio, he added, “I think we’ll have some news which will make us all happy soon…”

He was also asked on the possible interest in the club for AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract expires with the Italian club at the end of the season,  but he was dismissive of the idea instead redrawing focus to their European footballing exploits.

“Donnarumma? This is a Champions League broadcast, not the transfer market,” he said.
