Lampard provides updates on Pulisic & Christensen ahead of West Ham

Frank Lampard has today moved to provide an update on a pair of Chelsea players ahead of their meeting with West Ham.

West Ham vs Chelsea

Chelsea’s latest outing sees them face a trip to capital rivals, West Ham, on Wednesday.

The Blues head into the tie in top form. Since the restart, Frank Lampard’s men have garnered crucial victories over Aston Villa, Manchester City and Leicester City.

The former two ties were in the league and put Chelsea in a superb position as we head into the business end of the campaign.

Chelsea are currently sat two points clear of 5th-place Wolves, whom they have a game in hand over.

The capital giants are also five points above Manchester United. However, that gap could be shortened to just two points on Tuesday, should United see off Brighton.

As a result, Chelsea will be desperate to get one over on a seriously out of form West Ham side.

Updates on Pulisic & Christensen

Ahead of what should be a fairly easy victory for Chelsea, Frank Lampard held his latest press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

During the presser, Lampard moved to offer injury updates on a couple of Chelsea’s stars.

One of which, was Christian Pulisic, a player who has been his scintillating best since the restart.

The American was withdrawn during the second half of Chelsea’s aforementioned FA Cup triumph over Leicester this past weekend, with Lampard, at the time, citing a tight calf as the issue.

And the English tactician once again stated on Tuesday that the problem is in Pulisic’s calf, before adding he is still unsure if the winger will be fit for Wednesday:

“Christian has felt a bit of tightness in his calf just as he came off against Leicester, so we’re managing him. I haven’t got an answer for it yet, it feels better than it did after the game so we’ll see by tomorrow.”

Lampard also offered the following update on Andrea Christensen:

“AC likewise a little bit is in the squad but we’ll have to see with another 24 hours, because of the tight turnaround.”
