Jadon Sancho left out of Dortmund’s German Super Cup squad / BVB ‘deny’ reasons are due to possible exit

Jadon Sancho has not been included in Borussia Dortmund’s squad to face Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup.

Sancho has been a long-term target for Manchester United throughout the summer transfer window. Dortmund have been insistent that they will not accept anything below their €120 million valuation.

However, BVB have been very insistent as to the reason behind Sancho’s omission. It is reported to be down to a respiratory issue which is not COVID-related after a negative test for the virus.

With just mere days left of the window, sometimes clubs become more willing to lower their expectations of price to get deals done. This, however, appears to be far from the case when it comes to Dortmund.

Busy finish

Further reports have suggested that Manchester United could have a busy last few days to the window regardless of Jadon Sancho’s situation.

The club have been looking to find a left-back to provide strong competition for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams. Porto’s Alex Telles has, for weeks now, been linked with with a move to Old Trafford.

In regards to outgoings, Andreas Perreira is looking to complete a loan move to Italy with Lazio. The Brazilian attacking midfielder has limited options with Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes, Donny van da Beek and Mason Greenwood available to Ole Gunnar Solkjaer.

Also linked with a move to Rome is Chris Smalling. The former England international spent last season on loan at Lazio’s rivals Roma and Smalling could soon line-up against his teammate Pereira in the Rome derby if the clubs agree a fee.
