Harry Kane sends message to sacked Jose Mourinho before sitting out training ahead of Man City

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has taken to social media, to send a message of thanks to outgoing boss Jose Mourinho.

‘A pleasure’

Amid the widespread turmoil surrounding all matters Super League-related, one story has slipped somewhat under the radar in England on Monday.

This of course comes in the form of Tottenham’s decision to part ways with Jose Mourinho.

Amid an altogether underwhelming campaign to date, which sees the Lilywhites languishing in 7th in the Premier League table, and having been ousted from the Europa League in embarrassing fashion, Portuguese tactician Mou has been sent on his way.

The timing of the announcement, though, nevertheless marked something of a surprise, with Spurs of course set to take on Manchester City in the finale of the League Cup this weekend.

On the back of the club’s announcement, the vast majority of the Tottenham faithful have since reacted positively to Mourinho’s departure, with a toxic atmosphere having long been building behind the scenes in north London.

One individual, though, who has made sure to pay the legendary tactician his proper respects, is Harry Kane.

Taking to Twitter this afternoon, Spurs’ captain posted a photo of himself and Mourinho, accompanied by the caption: ‘Thank you for everything Boss. A pleasure to have worked together. I wish you all the best for your next chapter.’

Kane sits out

In further news relating to Kane, it has also been confirmed that the hitman played no part in Tottenham training on Monday.

Kane of course limped out of the club’s meeting with Everton last week, after picking up an ankle problem.

His participation versus either Southampton on Wednesday, or Man City in the League Cup showpiece four days later, therefore looks in serious doubt.
