Sergio Ramos’ adventure with Paris Saint-Germain could come to an end without the Spaniard having ever even stepped foot on the pitch for the club, according to reports.
Messi & more arrive
Legendary stopper Ramos was of course just one of a host of high-profile names to make the move to the French capital during the summer.
Despite the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria already sitting on their books, the board at the Parc des Princes, in their efforts to finally kick on towards European glory, sanctioned a fresh financial splurge (albeit chiefly on the wage front).
Achraf Hakimi, for one, reinforced PSG’s right flank in a big-money arrival from Inter Milan, whilst Nuno Mendes was brought in on loan from Sporting CP, too.
Arriving on free transfers, meanwhile, were all of Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum and the aforementioned Ramos.
The former three of this quartet have since enjoyed something of a mixed stint in Paris, with Messi and Wijnaldum in particular having come in for regular criticism.
At the very least, though, all three have featured prominently under Mauricio Pochettino.
The same cannot be said, however, for Ramos.
Owing to an injury which is understood to have been present upon his arrival in the summer, the veteran Spanish international has not managed a single minute of action with his new club, instead taking his place in the stands on a weekly basis.
Ramos on the way out?
And, as outlined above, if the latest word stemming from the French media is anything go by, then such woes could yet be compounded for Ramos.
This comes owing to the incredible suggestion that, amid mounting frustration surrounding his fitness, the ex-Real Madrid standout could soon see his Parc des Princes stint brought to an end.
As per a report from Le Parisien, the board at PSG are taking into serious consideration the possibility of terminating Ramos’ contract with immediate effect.
Some at the club, in fact, have already come to the conclusion that the 35-year-old’s signing was a mistake.
Paris Saint-Germain are considering rescinding Sergio Ramos’ contract, according to @le_Parisien. The Spaniard has not played since May and internal sources believe the club has made a mistake with his signing.
