Four Arsenal stars break social distancing rules & Thomas Partey’s agent contradicts player’s dad

Four Arsenal stars break social distancing rules

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, one of the verticals which the papers have assumed as their responsibility is to out and shame any footballers who have been caught breaching social distancing rules.

Whether that’s the job of the media is up for debate.

Nevertheless, some footballers keep breaking the rules.

That’s included Everton’s Oumar Niasse, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, Man City’s Kyle Walker, while Tottenham’s Serge Aurier has broken the rules twice already.

On Thursday, the Sun have published new photos revealing how four Arsenal players have also broken the rules.

David Luiz, Granit Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe

The four players who have been shamed are David Luiz, Granit Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe.

Starting with Pepe, he was filmed playing football “with a dozen pals in North London,” report the Sun. The tabloid also revealed:

Fellow Gunners David Luiz and Granit Xhaka were also spotted having a get-together on parkland in Southgate.

And Alexandre Lacazette was snapped standing next to a car valeter cleaning his Audi on his driveway.

How Arsenal have reacted

The Sun contacted Arsenal for their comments on these social distancing breaches. The Gunners issued the following statement:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ll be speaking to our players.

We were concerned so we have spoken to Nicolas who shares a house with a number of relatives who were involved in this game.

We have reminded him of the importance of everyone following the guidelines.

There is no reason to believe Arsenal will punish any of these players.

Thomas Partey’s agent contradicts player’s dad

Are Arsenal going to buy Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey?

This week, Thomas Partey’s dad spoke to radio station Tru FM to reveal his son is in transfer talks with Arsenal. He said:

I called my son after hearing the rumours and he told me that the rumours are true.

He told me they are holding talks between him and Arsenal. It all depends on the offer Atletico are demanding. If he goes to Arsenal fine, they have a lot supporters in Ghana.

I will be happy if he decides to move to Arsenal. What they are discussing now is how Atletico will release him.

However, JJSports, who represent Partey, have since issued a statement denying that their client is in talks with the Gunners.

As confirmed by the Daily Mail, JJSports have said the supposed transfer talks are “totally untrue”.
