Former Liverpool defender aims jibe at Bruno Fernandes following Jota’s brace for Portugal

Portugal held by Serbia

Portugal were back in World Cup qualifying action on Saturday evening, facing off with Serbia.

A Seleção got their qualifying campaign underway in fairly unimpressive fashion earlier in the week, beating Azerbaijan by a goal to nil on Wednesday.

On Saturday, however, Portugal looked in much more impressive form, as Liverpool forward Diogo jota fired them into a 2-0 goal inside the first 45.

However, Fernando Santos’ men began the second 45 pretty slowly, which allowed Serbia to level things up by the hour-mark, via goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Filip Kostic.

And the visitors were unable to recover to bag an all-important winner, forced to settle for a share of the spoils, and 2nd place in Group A.

Jose Enrique mocks Ronaldo & Fernandes

Following on from Portugal’s draw with Serbia, meanwhile, the social media activity of one former Liverpool star has caught attention online.

Jose Enrique, now retired, was on Liverpool’s books between 2011 and 2016.

And the Spaniard is seemingly still a big fan of the Reds, judging by the numerous posts relating to the Premier League champions on his official Instagram.

As already mentioned, though, it is one particular image this weekend which has caught the eye over the last 24 hours.

After Liverpool’s Jota netted Portugal’s only goals vs Serbia, Enrique took to Instagram to post a picture of the forward, accompanied by a rather interesting caption:
