England’s injury jinx at Euro 2015 has continued with Alex Pritchard being ruled out for the rest of the tournament.
The Tottenham winger damaged his ankle during the 1-0 win against Sweden on Sunday and left the Ander Stadium in Olomouc wearing a protective boot on his right ankle.
He underwent scans on Monday, the results of which will become clearer later, but it is understood he has damaged ligaments and is facing a lay-off that will run to a number of weeks.

Alex Pritchard has been ruled out of Euro 2015 after damaging his ankle in the win against Sweden

The news comes as a disappointment to the England Under 21s after his impressive displays

The youngster was a constant livewire against Sweden but will miss the remainder of the tournament
It is a huge blow both for Pritchard and head coach Gareth Southgate, who lost Saido Berahino on the eve of the tournament with a knee ligament injury and saw John Stones ruled out for the first two games after he was concussed during a training session.
Stones, the Everton defender, is expected to come straight back into the side on Wednesday against Italy. He was involved in full contact training this afternoon for the first time since he was hurt last Tuesday but showed no ill-effects.
England will reach the semi-finals if they beat Italy but they would also progress with a draw, should Group B leaders Portugal and Sweden draw their game in Uherske Hradiste.

Better news for Gareth Southgate, however, is that John Stones should return against Italy on Wednesday
