England Under 21s will be hoping to depart for this summer’s European Championship in good spirits when they take on Belarus U21s in a friendly on Thursday night.
The fixture at Barnsley’s Oakwell ground will be the last for Gareth Southgate’s side before they head to the Czech Republic for this summer’s tournament, which starts on June 17.
Southgate will be hoping his young charges can replicate England Under 21s’ last performance at Oakwell four year ago – when they thrashed Israel U21s 4-1.
