MARTIN SAMUEL
Goalkeepers: Hart, Forster, Heaton
Defenders: Walker, Clyne, Rose, Bertrand, Smalling, Cahill, Stones
Midfielders: Dier, Milner, Alli, Barkley, Lallana, Wilshere, Drinkwater, Sterling, Henderson
Forwards: Rooney, Sturridge, Vardy, Kane
With Danny Welbeck now injured, I think Andros Townsend and Jermain Defoe would have a stronger argument for inclusion than Theo Walcott on current form. That said, it affords the opportunity to add greater balance in midfield. If Jordan Henderson cannot recover in time I would be tempted to call up Townsend rather than a like-for-like figure. The defence remains the worry, certainly the dearth of cover at centre half.
Starting XI vs Russia: Hart; Walker, Smalling, Cahill, Rose; Dier, Wilshere; Rooney, Alli, Vardy; Kane.
