Chelsea heading for Summer exodus

As things stand, Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are set to lose their most experienced four defenders on free transfers, as their current contracts in west London expire.

Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are all set to leave Stamford Bridge, with both Christensen and Rudiger seeing contract talks stall so far.

Azpilicueta, meanwhile, has already spoken on his future, saying:

“I feel fully trusted by the club in this moment. It is true that my contract ends in June but I am just focused on what is next, to train and play the best I can.

“Everything will take care of itself. I don’t need to take care of anything more. I have to keep doing the things that I am doing and everything will take care of itself. I love to be here, I feel loved since I arrived. My aim is to be here for as long as I can.”

Now 32, however, he may not be offered a new deal.

Chelsea target Sergino Dest

Now, as per Spanish reports, Chelsea are ready to take drastic action in order to reinforce their right-flank, by targetting young Barcelona and USA star Sergino Dest. Dest has struggled to nail down the right-back spot in a back four for the Blaugrana so far this season, with Oscar Mingueza fielded there as Dest operates ahead of him.

As such, he could act as a perfect backup for Reece James, who continues to excel at right wing-back. As per the report, the Blues are ready to offer 25 million euros to the cash-strapped Spaniards, although they are likely to try and hold out for 35 million euros.

With Tino Livramento currently proving himself an excellent Premier League wing-back at Southampton however, would it not make more sense to activate his buy-back clause, believed to set them back around 35 million pounds?
